The state capital is the best free place to park when going to 6th Street.
BBQ restaurants pick and choose what days they want to work, so always check their hours.
Summers are scorching. Over 100 is a typical Tuesday.
“Keep Austin Weird” means “buy local”.
In case you’re taking a road trip, Buc-ees has the cleanest bathrooms in the state. We love Buc-ees.
Public transportation.
Don’t stay in Round Rock.
Most stay downtown, near 6th Street, or close to the school.
You can stay near the Domain if you specifically want to shop, have cocktails, go to an MLS game, and daytrip to Magnolia, Texas.
Check dates for SXSW and ACL to know when hotels will be at capacity and twice the price.
I’ve had many wonderful times on 6th Street, especially at Jackalope, but stay safe when partying.
