Austin for the First Time, Eleven Things

Get around with Uber and Lift now that Austin understands no one enjoys taxis.

6th Street is “under 30” friendly.

Fancy hotels downtown, which have very nice bars, are “over 30” friendly.

Food trucks are plenty. And so is BBQ.

Summers are scorching and Texans bring up the day in history when it was hotter.

People drive an hour and a half to Magnolia Market.

“Keep Austin Weird” actually means “buy local”.

Texans are proud of: Whataburger, HEB, and Buc-ees.

Public transportation and free parking are foreign but Austin should still know that no one likes taxis.

Everyone stays downtown.

The speed limit is 75mph which means 90.
