Houston & Dallas, The new home

Pecan Lodge has some of the best BBQ I've had at a restaurant. Houston… Houston's charred meats and sauce have a little more to be desired. No, no, no… I've tried them. Houston is closer to Buc-ees. Buc-ees is the only gas station Texans will take a detour to visit on a full tank. Why? Well, where to begin? For moi, it's their clean bathrooms, chopped brisket sandwiches, and candied pecans. If they're out of pecans, I'll settle for almonds. Never cashews. The bathrooms are so clean we trusted them during the C19. Beyond this is the experience of visiting only the best rest stop in the country: shirts, Texas souvenirs, sausage on a stick, ready-made meals, breakfast sandwiches… Dallas has better shopping. Both cities have plenty of Simon centers though Dallas has the edge on boutiques and unique shopping, i.e., Bishop Arts, The Plaza At Preston Center, Snider Plaza, Deep Ellum, West Village, Knox & Henderson, Dallas Farmers Market, flea market Trader's Village. The city is also an hour and a half from Waco’s boutiques and Magnolia Market. However, the Houston Galleria….

The Turkey Leg Hut is rated. I recommend the Hennessey Turkey Leg. Undecided on how to describe the taste, but I always order it. And then Nobie's. I don't know of an Italian equivalent up north whose delivery costs are more than I'm willing to pay and pay them. Museums? Dallas. There's the Perot, JFK, Southfork Ranch. Adults enjoy the Perot. I have not been to any, but that's because I lived there. Dallas' sports teams are consistently performing better. Then again, Houston has the Astros, and Dallas has the "get 'em next year" Cowboys. Nightlife is quite the tie. Both are average, and Houston's is spread out. Clubs and lounges here and there and in CityCentre. Meanwhile, you'll only need one parking spot for Uptown and Deep Ellum. Houston is bigger. Dallas is colder. Houston has the rodeo. Dallas, the state fair. Houston is sticky. Dallas is cliquey. Artists frequent both, and neither like public transportation. HEB is the best grocery store in the world! There's that :).
